This is an original 1924 black and white line cut titled “Thrift” by Miss L. Hocknell for the Tootal Broadhurst Lee Company, Ltd.; the Broadhurst headquarters is a Victorian factory at 56 Oxford Street in Manchester, England. Broadhurst specialized in textiles during this time period. Period Paper is pleased to offer a rare and exceptional “mini poster” collection of some of the finest examples of poster advertising art of the early 20th century. The collection includes poster images in the form of original line cuts, original black and white halftone prints, and original mini posters. As “mini posters” they are but a fraction of the size of the original, but their powerful graphic designs combined with a succinct advertising message make them highly collectible pieces for the popular culture historian, the poster art collector, or those interested in the history of poster design. Period Paper holds one of world’s largest collections of original historical poster images in various different media formats.
